We covered winterizing your RV a few blogs ago, but are you ready for the wear and tear that comes from the harsh winter weather (I know we don’t see it now, but I swear it’s coming!)?
Do you put your RV in storage in the off season, cover it or just hope for the best? If you want to prolong the life of your RV---especially if it’s a used RV---make sure your roof, windows and doors are weatherproofed.
We recommend liquid roof for your minor ceiling repairs. It is a quick fix if you can figure out where exactly the leak is coming from and is great for outstanding heat, ozone and weather resistance. Once applied, it dries quickly and turns in to a rubbery consistency that can be easily painted over. In terms of windows and doors, make sure your weather stripping is not cracking. This takes time and attention to detail as a misstep could be costly. We have various options in stock depending on what you need.
Our Permatex Super Weatherstrip Adhesive is a liquid-based option for sealing minor cracks. We also have AP Products Weatherstripping Tapes that exceed most motor vehicle and UL specifications for UV resistance for more versatile coverage.
Stop by our parts department at Redding RV Center and we’d be happy to help troubleshoot your weatherproofing issues! Or call ahead to make sure we have what you need in stock at (800) 545-9306.
